Freeman Library is lucky to have the Texas Association of Doll Artists (TAODA)'s Storybook Doll Exhibit on display in our lobby. TAODA has been in existence for over 10 years, and its members have been displaying their storybook dolls in area libraries since 2001. They have displayed both their storybook dolls and other exhibits in Houston's Heritage Society Museum, the Heritage Museum in Montgomery County, and the Houston International Quilt Festival's Storybook Exhibit just to name a few. The dolls and the books on which they are based are both on display in our lobby. I was excited to see one of my favorite books as a child had its own doll - Miss Nelson is Missing! by Harry Allard and James Marshall. Take the opportunity to enjoy this fabulous display on your way in or out of the library - maybe one of your favorite books has a doll too!
