Tomorrow’s seminar [Wednesday, August 17] will be about interviewing and includes lab time for building a resume. The Interviewing seminar is from 1-3 pm; the Resume Lab runs from 3-4 pm. Both happen in room L-207 (the 'college lab') and to sign up all you need to do is drop by a reference desk or phone 832-559-4213.
Other seminars the organization runs include Creating a Resume/Completing the Application, and, Using the Internet.
Workforce Solutions is the local service delivery agency for the Texas Workforce Commission.
The Texas Workforce Commission is “the state government agency charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers. For employers, TWC offers recruiting, retention, training and retraining, and outplacement services, as well as valuable information on labor law and labor market statistics. For job seekers, TWC offers career development information, job-search resources, training programs and, as appropriate, Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits. While targeted populations receive intensive assistance to overcome barriers to employment, all Texans can benefit from the services offered by TWC and [its] network of workforce partners.” Retrieved August 16, 2011 from the Texas Workforce Solutions website http://www.twc.state.tx.us/twcinfo/twsolutions.html
