Want to know about the new hang-out spot in the Children's Department? We now have three tables dedicated to early literacy skills. Children's librarian Elizabeth Hunt created these tables after attending the Public Library Association's convention recently. She developed these tables to help parents encourage early literacy skills. It looks like she succeeded. These tables have become very popular with families.
There's a table with puzzles in several different shapes, a table with foam letters to be used to spell out the names of the pictures on the table, and a table with numbers to match with cards showing a number of objects. The puzzle table is changed out weekly, while the word and number tables will be changed out monthly. Drop by and see what all the fun is about.
