Houston Family Book List -- July 2012

Toddlers (Ages 1-3)
	Stay Close to Mama [5]by Toni Buzzeo Preschoolers are sure to relate to Twiga's desire for independence in this gorgeously illustrated picture book about baby giraffe that keeps wandering away from his mother to explore the interesting sights and smells that surround them.
[6]	If All the Animals Came Inside [7] by Eric Pinder Illustrations and rhyming text explore the fun and mayhem that could ensue if elephants, kangaroos, bats, and more were to come inside a little boy's house.
[8]	Dini Dinosaur [9] by Karen Beaumont This energetic and silly picture book, by the author of such preschool bestsellers as "I Ain't Going to Paint No More," is ideal for toddlers who love to get messy and the moms who get them clean again.
Picture Books (Pre K-K)
[10]	Isabella: Girl on the Go [11]by Jennifer Fosberry While playing in the backyard, Isabella imagines herself all over the world as a warrior, an archeologist, a queen, and an astronomer, then ends the day in her own home-sweet-home, the most wonderful place to be.
[12]	The House at the End of Ladybug Lane [13]by Elise Primavera Angelina Neatolini came from a long line of neat and tidy people. But Angelina liked to roll in the dirt whenever she could. Like most kids, Angelina wanted a pet, but pets are messy and the Neatolini parents did not allow mess in their new house. Enter a hard-of-hearing and very daffy fairy godmother ladybug-and magic, mess, and mayhem ensued in the house at the end of Ladybug Lane, which became anything but neat.

Early Readers (Grades 1-3)

Teen Fiction (Ages 12 & Up)
