Katy Branch - Spanish Book Club/Club Hispano de Libros

Spanish speakers, join us as we meet monthly for a book discussion.  On Wednesday, July 7, at 6:00p.m.,  we will discuss De Cómo las Muchachas García Perdieron el Acento by Julia Alvarez.

Repeated Friday, June 25, 2:30pm in the Women's Council of Realtors Conference Room. Summary: In Paris during July 1942, Sarah, a ten year-old Jewish girl, is brutally arrested with her family by the French police, but not before she locks her younger brother in a cupboard in the family's apartment, thinking that she will be back within a few hours. On the 60th anniversary of that event, a reporter finds herself compelled to retrace the girl's ordeal, from that terrible day to the camps and beyond. Atascocita Branch Library Book Club, Lunch 'n' Lit, discusses rough and tumble western Appaloosa by Robert B. Parker on June 10 at 1:00 PM.  Bring your lunch and your thoughts on this book turned popular movie.

Bear Creek Book Club Walks on Eggshells

The Bear Creek Book Club will be meeting tonight at 7:00 PM to discuss the book Walking on Eggshells by Jane Isay. The book selection for July will be Shanghai Girls by Lisa See.


Read a good book, join in a great discussion, and have fun.  
The Afternoon Book Discussion meets to chat about their fiction selection of choice. In June, they will review ­­­­­The Weight of Heaven by Thrity Umrigar.
