Electronic Journals

The Library owns thousands of online full text serials and journal subscriptions. These are available both within the Library facilities and over the Internet with a library card number and PIN. The electronic union list is organized by journal title and shows which database service to use for each publication. At this time it is not possible to go directly into a specific electronic journal by merely using the Union List service. Instead, once you have identified the title, note the database where it is located, then go to the the library "Databases" page where you will be able to enter the database you need d either through the "Magazines and Journals" or the "Complete Alphabetical Listing of All Databases" links. Click "Databases" at the upper right portion of this page or use the "Online Services" tab for shortcuts to the databases.

Print Journals

The link above is our union list of all print format journals, magazine, and newspaper subscriptions received by the Harris County Public Library System. The list is arranged alphabetically by title. Branch Libraries receiving a title are listed by symbol with the quantity noted next to them. The union list is published in Adobe PDF. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view or print the form for a free download visit Adobe.

If the title is available on microfiche, the branch symbol and the year(s) available will be noted under Microfiche Holdings.

If the Library does not have the magazine you need, a librarian can request copies of an article through interlibrary loan. Charges may apply. Consult your librarian for possible fees.
