HCPL believes in whole person literacy, we support traditional literacy across all audiences from birth to adulthood. We also provide learning opportunities to round help you to lead happier, healthier and more productive lives, including programs to help you make informed decisions with your hard-earned money and classes to help you catch up and keep up with the ever-changing world of computers and technology. We are here to help you become your best you.

If you want to learn to speak and read in English better in safe and friendly surroundings, you are in the right place. All of HCPL English-learning classes are taught by trained volunteer tutors and are completely free of charge. We provide all the materials. All you need is a desire to learn.

HCPL is dedicated to bridging the technology gap. Most HCPL branches offer a variety of computing classes from the very basics like how to use a mouse and beginner keyboarding to intermediate and advanced classes covering the software and skills employers demand including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Citizenship classes are designed for adults preparing for the United States naturalization test. We cover the US government, history, and geography. We also give you tips for the official citizenship interview. Classes are in English and study materials are provided by HCPL.
