Galena Park Book Drop Closed

Hello Galena Park Library users!

Due to developments on the repairs of the Galena Park Library building, the Book drop will be closed starting today. Harris County Materials can be returned to any other Harris County Public Library location. If you have already returned items into the Bookdrop, please let a Harris County Public Library employee know.
The nearest library branch is the Jacinto City Branch Library which is located at 921 Akron St., Houston, TX 77015.

Repairs iconThe Galena Park Branch Library will be closed for repairs beginning Monday, December 18, 2017.

Jacinto City Branch Library and South Houston Branch Library are the nearest Harris County Public Library locations. They, and all other open HCPL branches, will be happy to assist you with all of your library needs.

HCPL is currently formulating plans to continue offering some library services to the people of Galena Park during the closure as we have done for our customers at the HCPL branches closed due to flood damage. HCPL Harvey FAQs

I could not return my library materials because I could not reach the library due to high water. Am I still responsible for the late fees? 

If you return your books by September 15, you will not accrue late fees.

UPDATE: Most HCPL Branches Resume Normal Business Hours & Programming, Monday, Sept. 11.

Are you looking for a job or is a change in career in your future? Come to the Galena Park Library on 8/29/17 and 9/19/17 for presentations from representatives from Workforce Solutions.

August 29th's seminar is about Interviewing. You will learn steps to help you make a great first impression, appropirately respond to questions, and effectively follow-up to improve your chances at getting an offer!

September 19th's Seminar will be about the Energy Industry. This seminar will cover what this industry includes, why it's important to Texas, how your skills transfer, and where to find "hidden" opportunities!

Job FlyerDo you have kids ages between the ages of 16 and 24? Are you looking for an opportunity for them to obtain skills they will use for the rest of their professional lives (and get them out of the house)?

Workforce Solutions will be having a Job Readiness Workshop at the Galena Park Branch Library for those ages 16-24! Attendees will benefit from some resume and interview tips, as well as be informed of job opportunities in the area.

A Monster Calls at the Library

We all have monsters in our dreams, but would you want to see them come to life? Teens and tweens, join us for some fun with prints on canvas this Tuesday, January 10th at 4 pm at the Galena Park Branch Library. Based on the book "A Monster Calls" by Patrick Ness and the new movie coming out, we will create our monsters using acrylic paints and everyday items.
