Maker Monday's at GP Library

I am really excited to announce our new Maker Monday program. Each Monday from 4-5 pm, we will explore a variety of S.T.E.M. projects that have been generously purchased by Port Houston. Thanks to community partners like Port Houston we are able to provide our customers with 21st century life skills like this. We will design with K’Nex build sets, complete basic circuits, and program robots. These are just a few of the things we are going to be doing, we hope to keep our makerspace growing!

We are excited to announce that the Galena Park and Katherine Tyra branch libraries will reopen this month. Galena Park opens its doors Monday, April 23 after repairs to its roof and air conditioning system. The Katherine Tyra Branch Library at Bear Creek will welcome customers for the first time since Hurricane Harvey forced it to shutter on Monday, April 30.

Work is progressing at the Kingwood and Barbara Bush branch libraries, though we do not yet have reliable estimates for their return to service.

We want to thank you all again for your patience and support on the long road to recovery.
