Book Buzz - Teen Book Club

Join us for our first meeting on Thursday, April 6th from 7:15-7:45 PM.  The first title will be announced soon!  All teens are invited to join us for yummy snacks and a fun discussion.

Free Computer Classes Return to Jacinto City

Free computer classes are returning to the Jacinto City library.  Saturday march 18th we will have a Basic computer class where we will go over very basic information about computers.

Nutrition and Healthy Eating Class

Looking for ways to create better nutritious meals for your family? Or are you looking for ways to improve your diet?  On Thursday, September 29th at 6 pm, the Harris Health System will be coming to Jacinto City Branch Library to give a free class on Nutrition and Healthy Eating in the meeting room.  No need to register.  If you have any question, call us at 713-673-3237.

Tex-Mex Music Fiesta! (Hispanic Heritage Month)

Hello Everyone! Looking for a good time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month for the whole family? At Jacinto City Branch Library we will be have an all out party - a Tex-Mex Music Fiesta on Thursday, September 15, 5:30pm - 7pm.  There will be LIVE Tex Mex music, a piñata and crafts for the niños.  The Friends of the Jacinto City Branch Library will also be grilling up bistec tacos for sale to raise money for library programming as well!. New Storytime Hours

Hello Parents. Next Tuesday, September 6, the Jacinto City Branch will start conducting Storytimes on Tuesday mornings. We will kick off our new schedule with a Dragons theme. Toddler Time (ages 1-3) at 10:30 am and Children's Storytime (ages 3-6) at 11:30 am. You can also meet our new Youth Services Librarian and Story Teller, Lily De La Fuente. Aside from stories there will be fingerplays, songs and crafts. For more information, call us at 713-673-3237.

Manga Teen Book Club

Hello Teens and Tweens!  Do you like anime and love to read Manga?  Then we have the book club for you!  Reading Otakus is teen Manga Book Club that just started here at the Jacinto City Branch. The next meeting is Friday, September 2 at 5:00 pm.  If you don't already have a library card, be sure to sign up for one.  Your parents will have to sign your applications and present an ID or form with name and current address.  After the meeting, you will be checking out the next book: Pretty Guardian, Sailor Moon 7.  Feel free to contact us at 713-673-3237, if you have any questions. 

Back to School Storytime

Wow! Summer went by fast and now it's time to go back to school!  On Thursday, August 18 at 3 pm, we will be having a special Back to School themed Storytime for ages 3-6.  We will be watching a short film with popcorn, sing some songs and do a craft.  We would also love for the parents to attend and participate as well! Wii Sports Games

Due to popular demand,  we have scheduled another Wii Games session at the Jacinto City Branch Library!  Come join us on Wednesday, August 17 at 3 pm in the meeting room and be sure to bring your friends.  Recommended for ages 10-17.  For more information, call us at 713-673-3237.
