Black History Month Event - Family Soulfood Potluck

Join us on Saturday, February 20th, 12:30 to 2:00 pm for food, family, and fun at the Jacinto City Branch Library for a Family Soul Food Potluck! Come and bring your best Soul Food dishes, try some other great recipes, and enjoy some famous Jazz music. Bring the whole family. Everyone is welcome! There will also be a paper  beading craft for the kids to teach the meaning of the Pan-African Colors: Red, Black, Green and Gold. Children's Storytime - Hershey Kiss Roses

On Thursday, Febrary 11th, 3:30 - 4:30 pm, Jacinto City Library will be having a special Valentine's Day  themed Storytime for the kiddos.  After the story and songs there will be a craft making roses out of Hershey Kisses! Zombie Teen Valentine

Hey Teens! Tired of the same old Valentines Day traditions? Then come celebrate Valentines Day with us at the Jacinto City Branch Library on Thursday, February 11, 6:00 - 7:45 pm. Don your best ghoulish zombie costume and bring your friends. We'll be showing the movie, “Warm Bodies” on the big screen and refreshments, the kind which only Zombies would eat, will be served!  There will also be a prize for Best Zombie Costume awarded at the end of the festivities.  If you need more information, call us at 713-673-3237.

ESL Classes (Clases de Inglés) at Jacinto City Library

Want to learn or improve your English? Or know someone who does? Clase Sobre Diabetes y Nutrición

¡Es un año nuevo! ¡Es hora de recuperar la salud! New Story Time Hours and Snowmen!

Starting Thursday, January 7, Jacinto City Library will be changing its Children's Story Time hour to Thursdays at 3 pm.  And to kick off our new schedule, we will be having a special Snowman themed story time and craft.  So come to the library and stay warm with stories, activities, and crafts! STAR WARS at the Library!

Hey kids! Are you a Star Wars fan looking forward to the opening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18th?  Looking to get your geek on and celebrate? On Thursday, December 17th, come join us at the Jacinto City Library for an afternoon of Star Wars fun!  Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character, play games and win prizes, and participate in fun craft activities.

JC Library Annual Christmas Program

Come Meet Santa Claus!

Join us on Thursday, December 3rd at 6 pm for Jacinto City Library's annual Christmas Program! There will be the reading of the classic tale ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas by Councilman Lee. There will also be music, singing and fun for the family. Santa Claus will be arriving after the story, so stick around to tell Santa what you want for Christmas and take your free picture with him! The festivities will be from 6 to 8 pm.

From Caterpillars to Butterflies

Special Story Time and Craft!

Kids! Join us for a special story and fingerplay at the Jacinto City Library on Thursday, November 19th at 1pm featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  After the story, we will be creating Oragami Butterflies in recognition of National Citizenship Month. All materials provided.Many of you have been keeping an eye on our caterpillars here at the library as they've been transforming inside their chrysalises.
