Last Week with Mr. Bryan

Mr. Bryan, Katy Children's LibrarianFor those who haven't heard, Mr. Bryan will be leaving the Katy Library soon.  So, come in the week of February 9th for his last week of storytimes with us.  Let's give him a big send-off!

YOGA @ THE LIBRARY

Yoga is a great way to relax and get in shape.  The Katy Branch Library will host a volunteer taught yoga class on the first and third Saturdays of the month starting February 7, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.  Attendees are asked to bring their own yoga mats and to refrain from eating 2 to 3 hours before class.

AFTER SCHOOL Wii FUN

Join us at the Katy Branch Library on Wednesday, January 28 at 3:30 for some after school fun with the Wii.  Jam with Just Dance 4 and compete with Wii Sports.  Snacks and crafts will be available as you wait your turn.

Upcoming New Programs

FebruaryFebruary is the start of some exciting new programs at the Katy Library.  Back by popular demand will be the AARP Tax-Aide volunteers here to help you file your 2014 income taxes - every Tuesday from 12:30-4:30pm starting 2/03.  Also, if you know someone who speaks Spanish and wants to learn how to sew, bring them to our Spanish Sewing Class - every Monday from 12:00-2:00pm starting 2/02.  For those of you looking to relax a bit, come to our new volunteer-taught yoga class - every other Saturday from 2:30-4:30pm (bring your own mat).  For more information, give us a call at 281-391-3509.

January is a good time to look at your seed catalogs and start planning your spring garden.  The Katy Garden club will meet on Thursday, January 8 at 11:00.  Come and share your 2015 garden plans.

Bye Bye Christmas Tree

Christmas tree from Clker.comI know, it's hard to say goodbye.  But, the City of Katy Public Works Department does curbside Christmas tree recycling for a limited time.  Contact them at 281-391-4820 to schedule your pickup.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Katy Library staff wish you a Happy New Year!  The library will close at 5:00 on Wednesday, New Year's Eve and will be closed on New Year's Day.  We'll reopen on Friday, January 2 and resume our normal hours.
