September 25 is National Comic Book Day!

So, grab your favorite graphic novel or comic book, watch your favorite super hero movie and/or dress like your favorite comic book character and celebrate the day!

Looking for something to do with the kiddos this weekend?  Saturday, September 24th, at 11:00am, Kiddie Acadamy is presenting Storytime Live! where Curious George jumps out of the book and is larger than life!  This event is free and open to the public.  Go to www.kastorytime.com for more information.  This is sure to be an event you don't want to miss!

English Speaking Practice at the ESL Book Club

The Hunger Games by Suzanne CollinsIf English is your second language, and you want to speak it better, join our monthly ESL Book Club. We spend 2 or 3 months on a book and meet to discuss it - all in English. The next meeting is this coming Wednesday, 9/21 at 3:30pm, and we're discussing Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.  

KATY MARKET DAYS

TEEN BOOK CLUB

The Teen Book Club meets Tuesday, September 13 at 5:30 p.m.  Join us for a great discussion of The Brothers Torres by Coert Voorhees.  This is an awesome novel with a fantastic main character.  If you haven’t had a chance to read the book, come anyway to discuss your favorite books and authors.  As always, snacks will be provided.

Story Time at Katy Branch


  As the big kids go off to school, you may be wondering what to do with the little ones.  The Katy Library has the answer!  We offer numerous story times throughout the week, so you should be able to find something that fits your schedule.

BABY TIME:  Mondays  10:15am    This is a baby lapsit program for infants to 18 months.  In addition to music and fingerplays, listening to a story, the babies will get to play and interact with each other in the last part of the class.

Do you want to make the best use of your iPad?   Come to our class on Monday, August 29 at 10:30 a.m.  Learn how to stream movies, download books, play great games, and discover the most popular apps.  No registration is necessary, just bring yourself and your iPad.

Katy Kid's Garden Club August 2016

The Katy Kid's Garden Club will be making Toilet Paper Roll Bird feeders on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 4:30pm.

 

We will be using toilet paper rolls, bird seed and peanut butter to create a delightful treat for our birds in the garden.  Feel free to take your bird feeder home to feed your birds, or we can display out in the back garden.

 

WARNING:  Peanut butter involved.
