NEW ANIME BOOK CLUB

On Thursday, April 20 at 4:30 p.m. the Katy Branch Library will hold the first meeting of their new Anime Club for Tweens and Teens.  Find out the latest news in the anime world, discuss your favorite manga, watch some anime and play some games. Snacks provided. 

Para los Ninos Bilingual Storytime

Join us on Wednesday, April 12th, at 6:00 pm for our Para los Ninos Bilingual Storytime!  Para los Niños is a fun, educational, bilingual workshop designed by the Children’s Museum of Houston for the whole family. We will be reading stories, singing songs and enjoying hands on learning activities that will make your child’s learning fun and exciting. This program is designed for children age 3-7 years old. Each family will be given a family ticket to the Children's Museum at the conclusion of the program. Space is limited and tickets will be handed out 30 minutes before the program

The Pages by the Pint Book Club will be held at No Label Brewery on Tuesday, April 11 at 8 PM! Join us for beer, books, and bonding. Our first book is Life After Life by Kate Atkinson.  Please bring your own lawn chair to the book club as seating is limited. Outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome. See you there!

Pages by the Pint Book Club

We are less than a week from the first meeting of our new Pages by the Pint Book Club at No Label
Brewery! The first meeting is April 11, 2017 at 8:00pm. We will be discussing "Life after Life" by Kate Atkinson. Copies of the book are available at the Katy Library. Please bring your own chair as seating is limited. Flyer attached for more details.

 

BASKETS AND BUNNIES IN KATY

Kids can celebrate with the Easter bunny on Saturday, April 8 at Katy City Park, 5720 Franz Road at Avenue D.  The event held from 9:00 a.m. to noon will feature games, activities, crafts and pictures with the Easter bunny.

KATY FOLK LIFE FESTIVAL

Learn how the pioneers in the early 1800’s lived at the 32nd annual Katy Folk Life Festival on Saturday, April 1.  The Katy ISD Outdoor Learning Center will be transformed into scenes of the 1800’s with demonstrations of pioneer crafts and activities.  The event takes place at 6301 Stadium Lane from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  For more information click here to visit their website.

Tomball German Heritage Festival

If you are looking for a fun and culturally stimulating activity for this weekend, head up to Tomball for the Tomball German Heritage Festival.  This annual festival celebrates the heritage of the original Germans who settled this area in the 1840s and is held in Old Tomball near the Historic Train Depot Plaza.

Homework Help

Starting in April, the Katy library will be offering weekly homework help.  This program will be every Wednesday at 6:00pm.  All ages are welcome at this drop in session. PAGES BY THE PINT BOOK CLUB

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE

Are you looking for some great bargains and a way to help the library?  Stop by the Katy Branch Library on Saturday, March 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the Friends of the Library Book Sale.  Adult Hardcover books will sell for $1.00, paperbacks will sell for 50 cents, and all children’s books will be 3 for $1.00.  The book sale will also include DVDs, which will sell for $1.00.  All of the profits from the book sale go to support the library’s programs.
