Teen Notebook & Lava Lamp Pens

School is back in session and it is time to get organized. Get creative with your planner by making your very own reusable whiteboard notebook. Write, Draw, Erase, Repeat! Also, make note taking more fun this year by creating your own Lava Lamp Pens. It all happens in the Teen Room on Tuesday, September 4, from 4:45-5:45 PM.

For teens and tweens in grades 6-12.

LED Canvas Art!


Calling all art enthusiasts who want to experience a variety of imaginative, innovative, and instructive hands on art making. If you are an artist, crafter, or a DIY maker, then join us on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10 AM for an artwork illustration featuring LED lights with Lindsay Murphy!

Scratch Coding for Middle Schoolers

Learn basic coding with Scratch! Scratch is a programming language developed by MIT where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations. This program will be on Thursday, September 6, from 4:45-6:00 PM in the Computer Lab. Registration is required and opens on August 30, at 10:00 AM. Please call or register online.

For middle school teens and tweens in grades 6-8.

CHILDREN’S WEEKLY RUN-DOWN! We will be taking a break for the rest of this month from special programming. Next Month will be the start of our school year programming so stay tuned!

Our Story times continue as normal! Be here for Toddler Time* on Tuesday @ 10 AM and @ 10:30 AM, Infant Lapsit Storytime* @ 11:15 AM on Tuesday and @ 11 AM on Thursday, and Preschool Storytime* on Wednesday @ 11 AM. We also have our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 where you can enjoy stories and a craft!

*Tickets required upon entry. Pick up your free ticket at the Children's Reference Desk before entering your story time. Tickets will be given to the first 30 children and their caregivers the day of the scheduled event.  

HMNS Weiss Energy Hall & Death By Natural Causes Exhibit

On Wed 8/22 the #KingwoodLibrary joined #HarrisCounty Precinct 4 Fun4Seniors on a trip to the Weiss Energy Hall & Death by Natural Causes Exhibit at the #Houston Museum of Natural #Science. The group learned bout #energy #technology & #dangers that lurk in your everyday life.

Fun4Seniors is operated by Harris County Precinct 4 Senior Adult Program and is open to ages 50 years and older. Transportation is free to and from Kingwood Branch Library. For registration, payment, and event information please contact Fun4Seniors by calling 281-893-3726.

Wild Birds Unlimited

You are in for a special treat! On the evening of Thurs 8/23, Wild Birds Unlimited will be in the Meeting Room at #KingwoodLibrary from 6-7 PM. Learn about the birds that live in or visit the Kingwood / Houston area. The hummingbirds will be passing through on their way to Mexico. Learn how to help. All ages welcome!

Tonight's the night for Talk it Up Book Discussion @ #KingwoodLibrary! August's book selection is "The Aviator's Wife" by Melanie Benjamin. The novel pulls back the curtain on the marriage of one of America's most extraordinary couples: Charles Lindbergh & Anne Morrow Lindbergh. Each month the Kingwood Library offers FREE computer classes.
