Love to Knit? Love to Crochet?

Baby Jacket and Hat Knit by Myra WilsonEvery second and fourth Tuesday of the month, treat yourself to uninterrupted time of knitting/crocheting with others who enjoy needlecraft! Bring your latest project to the library on Tuesday, January 24, 10:00 am – 11:30 am.

Make new friends, discuss methods and tips, and maybe even plan a future knit or crochet “for a cause” project!

Note: If you have a basic knowledge of how to knit or crochet, come on! Though not an instructional class, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn!

Movie Time For Adults!

Grab a cup of coffee and watch an inspiring feature film, 'The Flying Scotsman' ©Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Inc., based on the true story of Graeme Obree, a Champion cyclist from Scotland who built his winning bike from old washing machine parts and had personal challenges to overcome. Saturday, January 21, at 10 am. Running time for the movie is one hour and 36 minutes. Rated PG-13. Free. No registration required.

Adult Program: Book Discussion Group

Book Jacket of 'The Story of Land and Sea' by Katy Simpson SmithWe are starting a Book Discussion Group for Adults Ages 18 and Older!

The first discussion will be on Monday, February 13, 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm.  We will discuss the book ‘The Story of Land and Sea: A Novel’ by Katy Simpson Smith. 

Set in a small coastal town in North Carolina during the waning years of the American Revolution, this moving debut novel follows three generations of family--fathers and daughters, mother and son, master and slave--characters who yearn for redemption amidst a heady brew of war, kidnapping, slavery, and love.

The book is available for checkout from Harris County Public Library as a regular or large print book, and as an eAudiobook through Hoopla. Please call the library at 281-471-4022 if you would like assistance in placing the book on hold.

Adult Program: Let's Knit Together (And Crochet, Too!)

This will not be an instructional class but instead a time to work on projects and discuss tips and methods. We will offer this knit/crochet circle every second and fourth Tuesday morning of the month, 10:00 am - 11:30 am. Led by our own Myra Wilson. Free. No registration required.

Teen Maker Space: 3D Holograms

Come to the Teen Maker Space and learn how to make your own 3D Hologram image. The program will be Wednesday, January 11 beginning at 4:00 pm. For ages 10-17.

Tuesday, January 10 & 24 at 10 am – 11:30 am (second and fourth Tuesday of the month): Let’s Knit Together (And Crochet, Too!). Bring your latest knitting or crocheting project to work on.

Saturday, January 21 at 10 am: Movie Time for Adults ‘The Flying Scotsman’, ©Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Inc. This inspiring film is based on the true story of Graeme Obree, a Champion cyclist who built his bike from old washing machine parts, and tells the triumphs and challenges he experienced along the way. Movie running time is about 1 ½ hours. 

Also on Saturday, January 21, 10:30 am- 11:30 am: Crafting for Adults, ‘Make a Valentine’s Day Wreath’. Registration required. Please call 281-471-4022 to register, or register in person at the Circulation Desk at the library.
