Teens: Practice SAT This Weekend

Are you ready for the SAT? This Saturday, April 21st at 10am, the library is having a Practice SAT Test presented by Princeton Review. Bring your #2 pencils and calculator and experience the SAT firsthand. Registration is required as space is limited. Register online at www.hcpl.net or call the library at 832-927-5560. 

Teens: Rock Out With K-Pop Club

Explore the tops of the Korean pop charts on Thursday, April 5th at 4:30pm with K-Pop Club! Talk about the latest songs, videos, and more!

This program is for teens in grades 6-12. 

Dr. Seuss Party on Friday, March 2

Children and their families are invited to join a special party to celebrate the life, and work of Dr. Seuss. 

When: Friday, March 2nd at 4:00 pm. 

For: Children ages 12 years old or younger. 

Get Ready for the ACT with a Free Practice Test

Are you ready for the ACT? Get in some practice with our free ACT Practice Test administered by Princeton Review on March 10th at 10am. Registration is suggested since space is limited. Register on the Events page.

Celebrate African-American History Month

Children and their families are invited to join a special program celebrating African-American History Month. We have many exciting activities planned including children's stories, a puppet show, and crafts highlighting the contribution of Black Americans in the United States. We will also enjoy a yummy treat and have a drawing for great prizes! 

When: Monday, February 5th @ 6:30 pm

This program is in place of Twilight Tales, and it will begin 30 minutes earlier than normal.

The Road to College

Do you have money for college? Are you prepared for the SAT and ACT tests? Want to talk to an admissions advisor abour the college admissions process? Join us for a college open house on Saturday, January 27th from 10am to 2pm. Drop in any time to have your questions answered, talk to college professionals, and sign up for our upcoming ACT and SAT Practice Tests before anyone else!  Don't miss out!

Schedule booked up, but you'd like to share about a great read?  Want to learn about some books before you have to read it for school?  Join the Atascocita Teens online book club.  We read 10 books a year.  Tell your thoughts about a book, help out your friends in finding a good read, and find that next great read for yourself.

Teens: Celebrate Winter at Club Anime and K-Pop Club

Teens, celebrate the beginning of the winter season with Club Anime on Tuesday, December 5th at 7pm and K-Pop Club on Thursday, December 7th at 4:30pm. 

For Club Anime, we will be doing a White Elephat Swap. Bring a weird, wacky item and wrap it up. Nothing to swap, not problem because we have extras. After all the packages are open, then the fun begins as we swap and bargain for the best haul. 

At K-Pop Club, learn about winter holidays in Korea along with the latest in new music and dramas. Sample Korean snacks and vie for Kpop prizes. 

Music for Children

Do you and your little one have a song in your hearts? Come join us as we jam to kid-song favorites. We will be singing along to kid-friendly hits,​ ​nursery​ ​rhymes,​ ​and​ ​more!​ This is a special program for children ages 2-5, but kids of all ages are welcome. Ages Family Program (Geared toward ages 2-5)

Monday, November 20 at 6:30-7:30pm
This program is in place of our regularly scheduled Twilight Tales (Family Storytime) program and begins 30 minutes earlier than Twilight Tales usually begins.

Teens: Get Your Game On @ the Library

So what is G.O.A.T.: Gaming on a Table? It's a teen program that focuses on tabletop gaming, rpgs (Role Playing Games), and CCGs (Collectible Card Games). We have games on hand but you are also welcome to bring your own games and handheld devices (Switch, 3DS, etc.). We meet the last Thursday of the month at 6pm. No sign up is required but we do ask that participants be ages 12-18 years old. So join us for an evening of gaming!
