Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover? Oh Come On!

I don’t know about you but I really don’t get the cover art for most romance books.  Have you ever found yourself hiding the cover?  Bending it over so no one can see it?  I’ve read many books were there was more happening on the cover then in the pages.   But….. maybe that’s just me.   I really like some of the new covers I have been seeing.  What do you think?   Do you prefer something a little more demure like me or something spicy?

Support Your Local Romance Writer

Looking For a New Author? Try Rachel Gibson!

True ConfessionsEvery once in a while I become completely obsessed with a certain author’s books and must read all of them.  Recently this author has been Rachel Gibson, especially her Chinooks hockey series.    I love her quirky, charming heroines, bad boy heroes and great settings, from small towns in Texas and Idaho to the city of Seattle.  Most books are parts of series, but they are loosely connected and can be read in any order.  If you haven’t read one of her novels, try one today!

My Favorite Rachel Gibson Novels:

A Little Romance, A Little Mystery, A Little Suspense

I just love romantic suspense novels.  How about you?  Does a good romance with some mystery, intrigue or suspense all woven together sound good?   You can find all different kinds to suit your mood.  These stories tend to be more plot-driven instead of character-driven.  By the end of the story the mystery has been solved and the relationship is solid, all wrapped up nice and neat.  Some of my favorite authors are Linda Howard, Karen Robards,

Starting Over

I am a firm believer that book series should have a definite beginning and end, and not just keep continuing on because they are selling well.  All of you series readers know what I mean -- sometimes no matter how much you love the characters, the story has come to a natural conclusion.  How do authors bring that about in a way that will satisfy their fans and then try something new?

That's Inspired!

Deep in the Heart of TroubleThe popularity of inspirational romance is booming as many romance readers are turning to books that have a wholesome and religious tone.  Not just stories of the Amish anymore, (although they are still extremely popular) inspirational romance has branched out into many major romance categories such as romantic suspense and chick-lit. Harlequin© has even become a publisher of inspirational fiction with their Love Inspired line.  No matter what you love, if you are looking for a clean and spiritual romance, try one of the authors below!

Self-published to Published!

I have been reading a lot of self-published books lately.  They are on the New York Times Best Sellers list quite often.  Three of my current favorites have been picked up by publishers and now you can check them out from the library.  I love, love, love Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire!   I can’t wait for Walking Disaster to come out.  It is really going to be tough waiting until next April!  Sylvia Day’s Bared to You is pretty specta

What Paranormal Book Series Would You Like to See as a Television Show?

If the success of TV series like True Blood and The Vampire Diaries have proven anything it’s that paranormal book series make great television.  What current paranormal book series would you like to see made into a television show?

The Holidays Are Coming

Well we just celebrated Labor Day and for me this signals the start of the holiday seasons. In a few weeks fall will begin, hopefully the weather will cool off a little, then we will roll right into Halloween.  I was shopping this weekend and the stores are already full of Halloween decorations!  This is also the time I start looking for those  books that center around a holiday.  Here are a few you can check out.
