Read Like a Champ with Houston Astros' Orbit!

*Please Note* Orbit's show will begin at 2pm because he needs to be back in time for a game! Go 'Stros! 

Come join us for a fun-filled educational show that features the World Champion Astros’ mascot Orbit! Listen to a reading of his new book, "Orbit's First Day of School", and get a photo!

This program will be held in the Cypress Creek Christian Church and Community Center, right across from the library.

Gamers Unite!

Gamers unite! Join us for some fun tomorrow, June 26, 2018 at The Barbara Bush Branch Library. We will be having tabletop and electronic games in our Robin Bush Room from 3:30pm to 5pm. Snacks will be provided by the Barbara bush library friends.

Passport Services Returning!

The staff from the Harris County District Clerk's office will be returning to process U.S. Passports next week. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can call 832-927-5690 to make an appointment. NOTE: the last walk-in customer will be received 30 minutes before listed closing time. This applies to all locations.

Passport Services will be held during the following days and times in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room:

Tuesday, June 26th from 1pm-6:30pm
Wednesday, June 27th from 1pm-4:30pm
Thursday, June 28th from 1pm-6:30pm

Please join us to celebrate Barbara Bush Branch Library's re-opening and help us say thank you to the people who made it possible.

Speakers will include Barbara Thomason, Northwest Houston Chamber of Commerce, Rev. Bruce Frogge; Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle; Julie Baker Finch Ph.D, Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation; Edward Melton, Harris County Public Library Director.

Students from the Zuniga School of Music will perform.

Citizenship Classes Happening Now!

Citizenship Classes are back! They are every Monday at 7pm in our Computer Lab.

Prepare for the United States Citizenship exam with this course. Classes are in English and study materials are provided by HCPL. Please note that this course does not grant citizenship and does not cover the cost of the exam.

Summer Meals @ Barbara Bush Library

This summer, the Barbara Bush Library and The Houston Food Bank are partnering up to provide healthy lunches for kids. 

Lunches will be served on Mondays to Fridays  from 11:30am-12:30pm. On Mondays, lunches will be available in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room, and on Tuesdays-Fridays lunches will be available in our Robin Bush Activity Room.

(Re)Opening Day

Knowledge Exchange every Fridays

This is Isobel and the 1000th hat that she has crocheted for M.D. Anderson Cancer Center since joining the Barbara Bush Library knitting and crocheting group: Knowledge Exchange.

All ages are welcome to this knitting, crocheting, and conversation group. Bring your own projects or make lap blankets for veterans and chemo caps for M.D. Anderson patients. Knowledge Exchange happens every Friday from 12:30pm-2:30pm in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room.
