The Eggs are Here!

Yesterday, the eggs for Project Peep arrived! They are in an incubator located at the Children's Information Desk. Stop on by and check it out!

We also have some egg-cellent programs coming up to help you learn more about Eggs and Chickens.

A Special Note from Margaret to You

It’s been my honor and privilege to serve customers at Harris County Public Library first at Aldine Branch (1976-1983) and then Cypress Creek Branch (1984-2001) and then Barbara Bush Branch (2002-2017).

Some of you have told me that I first helped you at Aldine Branch and some of you have already brought your kids to the library so I could help them find what they needed. Indeed, a longtime HCPL staffer recently told me I helped him at the Cypress Creek Branch back while he was still in high school!

The one constant these past 40 years has been my desire to help customers find the book they were looking for whether it be a current best seller, the next selection for their book club, the biography of the person they need to research for a school assignment, etc. etc. Or the information they needed to start a small business or to draw up their own divorce papers or to change careers, etc. etc.

Meet the Staff: Cathy

In the past months, you may have noticed a new face or two working behind the Information/Customer Service Desks at the Barbara Bush Library. Today, I'd like to introduce to your our new Assistant Branch Manager - Adult Services, Cathy! Cathy was nice enough to answer a few questions about herself so that we could all get to know her a bit better.

What is your position? What are some of your duties?

Coming Soon: Project Peep!

We have eggs-citing news! Project Peep is coming to the Barbara Bush Library!

In March, we will be incubating eggs, watching as they hatch and learning about eggs and chickens in fun programs.
But, we need your help! We are looking for foster parents for the baby chicks. Children must be between 7-12 years old to sign up as a foster parent.
