Crosby Book Club will meet on Friday, April 20 at 2 pm in the meeting room.  We will discuss The Stranger in the Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit, by Michael Finkel.  This is the true account of Christopher Knight, who so preferred solitude to society, he lived alone in the Maine woods for nearly three decades, sleeping in a tent, and conversing with no one.  How did Knight survive the bitterly cold winters, isolated and undetected, for so long?  And why would he choose this extreme lifestyle in the first place?

Crosby Book Club Meets Friday, March 16 at 2 pm

In recognition of Women's History Month, and the birthday of Albert Einstein (March 14), Crosby Book Club will discuss The Other Einstein, by Marie Benedict.  Einstein met his wife, Mileva Maric, when they were students at the elite Zurich Polytechnic, and they married in 1903.  Many have speculated about Maric's purported contributions to the Theory of Special Relativity.  Has Mileva been denied credit for her ideas?  Written from Maric's perspective, the author "aims to tell the story of a brilliant woman whose light has been lost in Albert's enormous shadow".

The public is invited to attend a discussion on Friday, March 16, at 2 pm in the meeting room.
