Hibernation season is over!

Hibernation season is over and there is a ton to do in Seabrook. Here at Evelyn Meador Library we have something for EVERYONE!

A Huge Thank You and Big News!

Wow! We had a spectacular turn out for the Annual Evelyn Meador Beautification Project hosted by our wonderful Friends of Evelyn Meador Library group. A total of 31 volunteers from the community participated, including students from Seabrook Intermediate School, Clear Falls High School, Clear Horizons Early College High School, and Girl Scout Troop 140125. We would like to thank Arlans, Donald Donuts, Kroger, Maas Nursery and the City Of Seabrook for their generous support of the event. Our Library looks amazing! Check out the video here.

But that’s not all, there’s more big news to share.

We are now members of the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce and we are celebrating with a ribbon cutting on April 24th at 5:30 pm.

Evelyn Meador Library Beautification Project

I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work at such a beautiful library. The Evelyn Meador library in Seabrook, TX is one of the more attractive libraries I have ever been inside. But, it wasn’t always this charming. Before Hurricane Ike, the Evelyn Meador Library was the epitome of what most libraries in our country represented: It was four walls surrounding stacks of books without any windows to let in natural light. Hurricane Ike damaged that old fashioned building, and this community was without a physical library for nearly three years.

Evelyn Meador library is pretty awesome!

Well, March has come and gone here at Evelyn Meador Library and we had some pretty amazing programs happen during the month. Did you get a chance to check out Miss Nancy’s International Storytime, or our new program for little makers. Don’t tell me you didn’t get a chance to go to the lavender farms and see the blue bonnets, or that you missed out on signing up for the April trip down to Galveston! How about taking a walk with Susan on Fridays? You can call me crazy, but if you missed the bath bombs program then you missed out on one heck of a maker program (we had a blast) and if you didn’t get to be all nostalgic with us while making slap bracelets then maybe you’re the one that is crazy! But, really, I don’t think you’re crazy; I just think that you need to check out all the awesome programs we have here at Evelyn Meador Library.

Have you been to your library lately?

Have you been to your library lately? If not, you’ve missed some amazing programs. We’ve had everything from kids learning Spanish and making paper circuits, a magic show for Dr. Seuss’s birthday, to adults sewing and learning Microsoft PowerPoint. But have no fear if you missed out on these cool events as we have more excellent programming coming up!
