It's growing season! Join us this Saturay (3/4) in the meeting room at 11am for "Really Green Lawn Care: Organic vs. Synthetics". AJ, with Hippie with a Haircut Fertilizing, will discuss the benefits of using organic fertilizer to make your lawn truly green. No registration is required.

Getting ready for that ACT or SAT? Don't know where to start? Join us this Saturday (2/25) at 11am (meeting room) in welcoming Jolyn Brand of Brand College Consulting as she gives us a presentation about the differences and how to prepare for these all important tests! Next Monday: "Git" on Board: the Life of Harriet Tubman

Next Monday (2/20) at 5:30pm in the meeting room, join us as Young Audiences of Houston's Hope Shiver interweaves Harriet Tubman’s poignant story with spirituals and work songs, allowing students to discover the lyrics of such songs as “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” and “Git on Board,” which often contained hidden messages for slaves preparing to escape to freedom. David Keepman provides musical accompaniment as students chant, clap, cheer, and rejoice in experiencing the famous railroad. No registration is required, just show up early to get a good spot!

Next Wednesday: Tinkering 101!

Next Wednesday at 4pm in the iMaker Space, Tinkering 101! Bring toys and small/inexpensive electronic items to disassemble and tinker with. In our first session, we will be taking apart a computer. Focus on modifications and circuit bending. No registration required.

Next Wednesday's Teen Cuisine - Candy Chocolate Hearts!

Ok, so Valentine's Day will have passed, but join us next Wednesday (2/15) at 4:30pm in the meeting room and we can still make a chocolate heart for someone special! We will melt our chocolate and design our own special treats. No sign up required, just show and get creative.

This Tuesday, 3D Printer Orientation!

Want to learn how to use our iMaker Space's awesome new 3D printer? Join us this coming Tuesday night (2/7) at 7pm for our first 3d Printer Orientation. This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing in the library. Those completing the class will be able to schedule time on the 3D printer to receive additional hands-on instruction. Next Friday - Happy Feet Walking Club!

The Evelyn Meador Library is surrounded by lovely parks and walking trails, let's take advantage of them! Next Friday (2/10) at 9:30am put on your walking shoes and join us at the front door of the library for 45 minutes fun and fitness. No registration is required, just come enjoy the outdoors with us.

Next Wednesday's STEAM Craft: 3D Hologram Pyramids!

For this next Wednesday's (2/1)  STEAM craft we'll be making 3D hologram pyramids! It's easier than you think. Be sure to bring your smart phone or tablet so you can find hologram images and videos online (we'll have iPads available though so we'll all be able to have fun). The crafting begins at 4:30pm in the meeting room!
