College Planning and Scholarships on Saturday

Hello Teens. Are you searching for colleges and looking at ways to pay for it? Come by the Fairbanks Library meeting room on Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 am for a one hour seminar to learn the best ways to plan for college and how to maximize on scholarships. We are located at 7122 Gessner Rd. Houston, TX 77040 at the corner of West Little York and N. Gessner beside Bane Park.

Space Crafts: Rockets at Fairbanks Library

Attention Rocket Scientists, we will be making straw and string rockets tomorrow, Thursday, July 11 at 3:00 PM. Free Tickets will be available starting at 2:00 pm at the service desk at the Fairbanks Branch Library, 7122 Gessner, Houston, TX 77040. Then at 2:50 head across the parking lot to the Cy-Fair Lion's Club Meeting Hall for the program. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Parties must be present to pick up tickets.

It's not too late to sign up for HCPL's Universe of Stories Summer Reading Program. You can sign up by going to our website: www.hcpl.net then select the Universe of Stories icon.

Adult Maker Hour at Fairbanks Branch on Saturday

Adult Maker Hour this Saturday!

Are you a space or SciFi fanatic who doesn’t mind showing it off? Join us at the Fairbanks Library meeting room this Saturday, June 29 at 3 pm and make a tote bag with your favorite space, fantasy, or SciFi character or logo. One bag per person. Galaxy Slime for Teens on June 18th

Teens! June 18th from 4-5:30pm Create a sparkly, stretchy craft that you can create however you want! We will use glitter glue to create a galaxy feel! No experience necessary, all materials will be provided. Materials are limited, so don't forget to call to reserve your spot at 832-927-7890.  See you there!

Summer Fun Thursday June 13 at 3:00 at Fairbanks Branch Library: Cow-tapults

CatapultsCan you get your cow over the moon? Come find out tomorrow, Thursday, June 13 at 3:00 PM. We will be building catapults and making pom pom cows.  Create your catapult then see how far you can fling your cow over the moon. 

Free tickets for this program will be available at our service desk starting at 2:00 PM.  The program will be held across the parking lot in the Cy-Fair Lion's Club Meeting Hall at 3:00.  We will open the doors of the meeting hall for attendees at 2:50.  Children attending must be accompanied by an adult.  Only the child who will be participating will need a free ticket.

Clearing Clutter & Creating Space Workshop Saturday! Having trouble deciding what to keep and what to get rid of? Having trouble organizing or making more out of your living space? Join us in the meeting room on Saturday, June 8 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm for a workshop with Sofia Alvim, who can help you learn how to clear the clutter and organize. This event is free. May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is also Mental Health Awareness Month! We've made a small booklist on various topics for you to choose from! There's some for all ages, from picture books to adult. You can request any of these from www.hcpl.net to be delivered to your home library.

Faithful Paws on Saturday, May 18

Hey Kids! The History of Anime

Teens! Join us at the Fairbanks Library tomorrow, May 17th at 4:00 pm to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by learning about where Manga and Anime originated in a unique and fun way!
