1. I don't have a particular genre that is my "go-to" style. When I get the chance I read a little in horror, fantasy, some general fiction, young adult, and some children's books.

2. On my own time, I like to visit museums, botanical gardens, and historical locations. Basically, I like to travel and sight see. If I had the money, I would do this all of the time and travel further than just a day trip from Houston.

Meet Your Atascocita Staff: Bonnie

Our next staff member for you to meet is also our newest!  Welcome Bonnie!

Title: Shelving Assistant

Time working at the branch: 6 months

I like several different book genres.  My favorites would probably be mysteries and historical romance.

On my own time, I enjoy doing counted cross stitch and sometimes make my own patterns.  I also follow NASCAR and enjoy going to the races when I can.

Name: Darla
Title: Circulation Assistant
Time working at branch: Ten years in May. I started on 5/5/05.

I’m a guru of the Young Adult reading genre.

On my own time, I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking and writing about fictional characters.

My favorite library work is creating fabulous Young Adult programs like Live Action Pac-Man, the Hipster Olympics, and Alice’s Tea Party.

National Chocolate Month coming to a close.

National Chocolate Month is coming to a close.  The 1st week brought us 151 customers who enjoyed chocolate candy bars.  During week 2, 206 customers enjoyed Hersey's Hugs and Kisses to celebrate Valentine's day and National Chocolate Month.  This week 155 customers enjoyed brownies to celebrate their birthdays, unbirthdays and National Chocolate Month.  So join us next week to celebrate National Chocolate Month with tootsie rolls.

See you next week.  Which day?  Maybe you will have to come in every day and see us to find out.
