JC SRP 2014 Elementary Elements Board

Jacinto City Branch Library has a Literary Elements board in the library to post your favorite titles on!  Come in and add your favorite titles of books and movies to the categories of the Literary Elements poster, the theme of the Adult Summer Reading Program.  Look at the attached picture to see how many we've posted! 

Fun At The North Channel 20th Anniversary Celebration

bubble dance partyLots of fun was had at our 20th Anniversary Celebration last Wednesday!  Cake was eaten, scrapbooks were poured over and lots and lots of dancing was happening at our bubble party!  If you missed our bubble party, don't worry.  We'll be having another one on Monday, June 9th at 2pm to celebrate the start of our Summer Reading Program.  We hope you'll join us to sign up for Summer Reading and dance the afternoon away!

North Channel Turns 20!

cake Join us as we celebrate 20 busy and wonderful years at this location with refreshments and viewing of old photographs.  Texas Bubble Parties will entertain children and we'll have a special visit from the Chick-fil-A cow.  Come and celebrate with us on Wednesday, May 14th from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm!
 

28th Annual Houston Art Car Parade--Saturday, May 10, 2014

Saturday, May 10th is the 28th annual Houston Art Car Parade.  It is the oldest and largest art car parade in the world.  The parade features mobile masterpieces from the surreal to the sublime.  Other events associated with the parade are the Art Car Ball and Sneak Peek.  An estimated 250,000 people will be in attendance.

Holiday Schedule

In observance of the holidays, the Aldine Library will be closing at 5 PM on Thursday, April 17th. We'll be closed on Friday, April 18th and will reopen on Saturday, April 19th for regular hours. Happy Easter!

National Library Workers Day, April 15th

April 15th is National Library Workers Day!  It was first celebrated in 2004 to recognize all library workers, including librarians, support staff and everyone that makes library service possible every day.

Resolutions, Resolutions, and, Oh, Resolutions

Happy New Year, everyone! With a new year comes new resolutions, right? The Aldine Library is here to help you meet and keep your resolutions. We are kicking off the new year with a collection of self-help books in our display case to help make a better you! Titles on weight loss, exercise, self-esteem, and just plain being happy are there. Stop by and take a look. On the lighter side, we have a Winnie the Pooh DVD available for checkout. In the story, Rabbit's pals in the Hundred Acre Wood make misguided resolutions to change with some hilarious and heartfelt results. Happy 2014!

Holiday Hours at Aldine Library

Next week is Christmas! The Aldine Library will be closing early (at 5 PM) on Monday, December 23rd. We will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday (December 24th and 25th). We will open again on Thursday, December 26th at 10 am. Have a safe and happy holiday!
