Summer Volunteer Opportunities

Summer is coming up quickly and the Barbara Bush Library is in need of volunteers to help during the summer. We are in need of volunteers to help us shelve during various days and times throughout the week.

Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age or older and able to commit to at least 2 hours of service a week. Training is made available for all new volunteers.

Please feel free to call the library at 281.376.4610 or email Jennifer at jennifer.nandlal@hcpl.net if you'd like more information about volunteering at the Barbara Bush Library. You can also download an application by going to HCPL's Volunteer Page. Once you complete the application, drop it off at the Barbara Bush Library and we will contact you regarding volunteering!

Friends' Annual Meeting

Join us Monday, May 8th at 7pm for our Friends' Annual Meeting. The meeting will take place in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room and it is open to everyone!

Our Annual meeting is a great way to interact with staff, volunteers, and our Friends of the Library. We will have a great guest speaker, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4, Lincoln Goodwin. Our volunteers will also be honored during our Annual Meeting.

See you there!

National Volunteer Week

April 23rd-29th is National Volunteer Week. Here at the Barbara Bush Library, we thrive because our volunteers are so dedicated. The staff at the Barbara Bush Library collaborated to create this fabulous display honoring all of the volunteers that are here on a regular basis. During your next visit to the library, be sure and check it out! It's located on the first floor near the elevator.

We'd like to thank all of our volunteers, past and present, as well as our Friends of the Library for going above and beyond on a daily basis to make our library such a wonderful place for our community!

If you are interested in volunteering, here are a few ways you can help!

We will be having staff from the Harris County District Clerk's office in next week processing U.S. Passports. Walk ins are welcome, but if you'd like to make an appointment, please contact them at 713.755.1674.

Passport Services will be held during the following days and times in our Earl Elliott Meeting Room:
