Let's talk about the technology issues concerning you! People from Freeman Library will be here to address questions about desktops/laptops, smartphones, digital tablets, HCPL eMedia, and more.

October Adult Crafts-To-Go Kit is Here!

Adults - please stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. This month's project is a scratch-art leaf. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last.

October Events in the Children's Department

Here's some October events in the Children's Department:

Monday, October 2 at 6:00 pm - Children of all ages are invited to celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival by attending a bilingual Chinese/English storytime with a taste of moon cake at the end.   Tickets given out at 5:30 pm.

Family Storytimes - Saturdays, October 7 & 21 at 11:00 am.  No tickets are needed for this storytime.

Pajama Storytime - Thursday, October 12 at 6:00 pm -  a fun evening storytime for the preschool age and younger children who are welcome to wear pajamas, bring a stuffed animal and/or blanket.  Tickets given out at 5:30 pm.

Adults - Wednesday, 10/4 at 6:30 PM - FM Live Series Hosts Jake Trione of TriAffect Fitness

The Freeman Library Adult Services Team proudly announces the new Freeman Live Series. These monthly events offer informative and entertaining presentations by staff, the Friends of Freeman Library, and local partners. The Friends of Freeman Library support these free presentations require which require no registration.

Change in Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Thursday, September 28

   Unfortunately, the 7 pm performance by Nueva Luna Ballet Folkorico has been cancelled.  However, we will have crafts, activity sheets, books, and music at 6:30 pm.   Tickets will be distributed at 6:00 pm

Adults - Friday, 9/29 - The TGIF Programs Friday Film Series returns @ 10:15 AM

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we look forward to showing a 2001 film based on the Julia Álvarez work of historical fiction. This film stars Salma Hayak, Lumi Cavazos, and Edward James Olmos.

This free event requires no registration. The Friends of Freeman Library provide the film, refreshments, and support for this TGIF Programs' event. After this event, the DVD of the film will be added to the HCPL collection. Banned Books Week Display

  Celebratre your freedom to read by finding out about some of the children's books that have been challenged or banned at libraries around the United States and other countries..  Banned Books Week began in the 1980's as an annual celebration of the freedom to read..  To find out why a book was challenged or banned,  just lift the little red flap.  If you would like to read the book, we can locate a copy to check out or place a request for you for that book.
