In this busy, fast-paced world, peace seems like an elusive commodity. Please join Daya Sharma a longtime meditator, for this engaging workshop. He has been giving programs on meditation for many years. Daya will offer effective, techniques that can reduce stress, enhance relaxation, promote inner growth and improve our physical mental and spiritual health. He will also include a short meditation sitting. Begin the New Year with meditation and join Daya as he invites you on this journey.

Ring in the New Year with fun crafts!

Children 3-12 years old can make some fun crafts on Thursday, December 28 at 2:30 pm.   We'll be maiking a noisemaker bell, a crown, and a wishing star.   We'll also have a prop table with fun New Year's 2018 glasses and hats to pose in style for a picture.   Tickets are required for this event.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting at 2:00 pm.  

 

Adults - Friday, 12/29 - TGIF Programs - Winter Film Festival Event #3!

Please join us for the third event of TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival on Friday, December 29. We will show a 1938 romantic comedy starring Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, and Doris Nolan. The film lasts 95 minutes.

Refreshments and DVD are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. After Event #3, the DVD will be added to the HCPL Collection and available for checkout. This free program requires no registration.

Adults - Friday, 12/22 @ 10:15 AM - TGIF Programs - Winter Film Festival Event #2!

Please join us for the second event of TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival on Friday. We will show a 1940 romantic comedy starring Margaret Sullavan, James Stewart, and Frank Morgan. The film lasts 99 minutes.

Refreshments and DVD are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. After Event #2, the DVD will be added to the HCPL Collection and available for checkout. This free program requires no registration.

Baby Playtime Fun at Freeman on Friday, December 15 @ 10:00 am

Babies infants through 18 months old and their grown ups will enjoy a festive playdate this Friday, December 15 at 10:00 am.   In addition to playing with toys and catching bubbles, babies will make a fun art project.   No tickets are needed for this event.  It is held in the Children's Activity Space right when we open at 10:00 am.   Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for supporting this program with new books, toys, and art supplies throughout the year.

Santa Claus visits Freeman on Thursday, December 14 @5:30-7:00 pm

Santa Claus will visit Freeman Library this Thursday, December 14 from 5:30-7:00 pm.   Tickets are required for this program.  They are free and given out starting at 5:00 pm.  The tickets will be numbered and Santa will see the children in number order.   Parents are encouraged to bring a camera or phone to snap a picture.  Special thanks to the Friends of Freeman Library and HEB for providing treats for this program.

Please join us for the first event of TGIF Programs Winter Film Festival on Friday, December 15. We look forward to showing the 1938 film based on the Dickens yuletide classic which stars Reginald Owen, Gene Lockhart, and Kathleen Lockhart. The film lasts 69 minutes.
