Book Lists
The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) selects ten adult books that will appeal to teen readers to receive the Alex Award each year. Created by the Audiobook and Media Exploration Committee of the Young Adult Library Services Association. Books are selected for good literary quality and reading appeal for teens, ages 12-18 and compiled by the Young Adult Library Services Association. This booklist was created to go along with the 2007 Teen Read Week theme: LOL @ Your Library. Get Active @ Your Library Booklist This booklist was developed by YALSA's Booklist Task Force to support the 2006 Teen Read Week theme: Get Active @ Your Library. This list of books was created to go along with Teen Read Week 2005. The theme of the 2005 Teen Read Week is Get Real @ Your Library! A selection of graphic novels recommended by Michele Gorman in her article "What Teens Want: Thirty Graphic Novels You Can't Live Without" in the August 2002 School Library Journal. Lone Star Reading Incentive Program Annual list of recommended books for students in grades 6-8. Each list includes library holdings. Awarded annually for lifetime achievement by the Young Adult Library Services Association. Outstanding Books for the College Bound and Lifelong Learners The books on this list offer opportunities to discover new ideas and provide an introduction to the fascinating variety of subjects within an academic discipline. The theme for the 2003 Teen Read Weak is Slammin', as in, poetry. There's a lot of great poetry out there by and about teens. Sponsored by Booklist, it is awarded annually to a book that exemplified young adult literature.
