Mystery Writers of America Writing Contest

In partnership with Mystery Writers of America, we are sponsoring a short story contest.  Entried are due October 17, 2005.  All writers receive a certificate, invitation to a pizza party, and the top 3 writers receive really cool prizes.  Entry forms and more information is available at the  Barbara Bush Library.  Ages 11-18.

Demented Dolls

Teens will use their creative minds to design and create the most demented doll they can imagine using a variety of patterned fabrics.  Ages 11 & up.

B-Movie Special!

Teens will be given some low budget, cheesy snacks while making a low budget, cheesy movie enjoyable!  Ages 11 & up.

Participants must pick up their question sheets by 6 pm on Tue, October 18 and turn in their answers by noon on Sat, October 22 to be eligible.  Teens must have 18 of the 20 questions answered correctly to be eligible for the prize drawing.  The prize drawing will take place on Sat, October 22 at 4 pm.  Ages 12- 18.

Lily Huff from the Better Business Bureau will talk about the scholarship search companies that scam you out of money.  She will also explore the dangers of easy to get credit cards and how teens can avoid the money trap.  Ages 14-18 and parents.
