HCPL's Summer Reading Program Is Serious Fun!
Pre-register starting May 24 and don't miss a minute of Summer Reading 2021. Join us June 7 - August 7 for fun programs and activities, and earn cool prizes for reading!
Why summer reading?
- Because kids and teens who read for pleasure during the summer have to spend less time and energy relearning lost skills when school starts.
- Because as little as ten minutes a day of reading works wonders for children's language skills.
- Because all the special, fun summer activities at the library can motivate reluctant readers.
- Because tracking the time they spend reading or the number of books they have read gives children a sense of accomplishment.
- Because HCPL's Summer Reading Program is fun for the whole family--from baby to seniors.
- Because you earn cool prizes for reading, attending library programs and doing other activities.
Each month during Summer Reading, HCPL branches will be distributing FREE Activity for babies, kids, teens, and adults. Each kit highlights a decade of the library's first one hundred years.
