NASA @ my library is a series of STEM based events held at our libraries. Harris County Public Library was selected along with 74 other libraries across the county to receive resources, training and support to increase STEM learning opportunities for patrons.
Harris County Public Library will be holding events throughout our branch libraries with the STEM kits provided by NASA. These events will contain specific activities for patrons to learn a STEM element while having fun! Interactive programs such as Build a Space Colony, allows for young patrons to freely build life size shelters with materials, while learning about the neccessary elements for future living off world. Other programs such as the Moon weather program will include green screen technology and discuss space weather and the atmosphere of the Moon as patrons pretend to be lunar weather reporters!
The activities and programs surrounding NASA @ My Library are available on this calendar.
This project is offered by the National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL) at the Space Science Institute (SSI) in partnership with the American Library Association (ALA).
