Handmade, one of a kind selfie stations pop up at three HCPL branches
Every time you step through the doors of a library, you know your world is liable to be transformed. It can happen in a lot of different ways: the almost-an-afterthought book you add to your stack that turns out to be exactly what you need in your life at that particular moment, the genealogy search that brings what were always hazy family stories into sharp historical focus, or just a gentle nudge from a librarian that turns a paint-by-the-numbers research project into a lifelong passion.
One of the reasons that libraries can be so transformative for you and everyone is that libraries are continuously transforming themselves. Three Harris County Public Library branches have recently taken a very 21st century, very artistic approach to self-transformation. Aldine, Atascocita, and Galena Park branch libraries designed and created special immersive art installations that transport customers to imaginative spaces and best of all--they are designed for your selfie-taking and sharing pleasure.
