Easy Exercise

With the gloomy winter weather outside, the last thing many of us want to do is exercise. Although the thought of staying in bed sounds more appealing, even a few minutes of movement is worth the effort of throwing off those blankets and putting on our workout shoes! 

In fact, according to a 2015 French study, even as little as 15 minutes of exercise results in great benefits, and “low levels of exercise (well below the current public health recommendations) have a protective effect.” Similarly, “researchers at the University of Utah School of Medicine found that people who got up and moved around for at least two minutes for every hour of sitting had a 33 percent lower risk of dying.” Even the Journal of the American Association “concluded that as little as 15 minutes a day of moderate-intensity exercise — and only 8 minutes a day of vigorous-intensity exercise — reduced the risk of death.
