Lone Star College-CyFair Library

The partnership between Harris County Public Library and Lone Star College-CyFair offers a unique blend of services. It enhances the community's learning opportunities by offering access to academic resources while providing the college's students, faculty and staff with popular materials not normally found in academic libraries.

History

The Lone Star College-CyFair Branch opened along with the Lone Star College-CyFair campus in August 2003. CyFair was the fifth campus of the then North Harris Montgomery Community College District. The joint library was the brainchild of college president Dr. Diana Troyer and Harris County Commissioner Steve Radack.

The Lone Star College-CyFair Branch Friends of the Library assists the library in its educational mission through exhibits, programs, publications, and other means.  The Friends group operates a book donation room in the lobby of the library. It is open Monday-Saturday:10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The Friends email is [email protected] and the website, which contains more information and a link to the membership form, is www.lonestar.edu/library/cyfair-friends.htm.

Proctoring is provided by the college testing center located in the CASA building. The phone number is (281) 290-3220. There is a charge of $25 per test.
