About this Branch


North Channel Library is filled with friendly staff who are always looking for ways to adapt programming and services to meet the needs of the community. We offer English Language Acquisition classes, 3D printing, computer classes in English and Spanish, story times and lots of educational and entertaining programming for all ages.


North Channel Branch Library opened in May 1994, replacing the old Channelview and Woodforest Branches.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the North Channel library raised $200,000 toward the construction of the library. Each year they raise thousands of dollars through book sales and donations. They sponsor the Summer Reading Program, Adult and Family literacy programs, and special events, in addition to providing funds for books. Alert! Alert! Spooky season doesn’t end in October! For some of us, spooky season is every season.

  “We are all makers” is not a novel idea but it is the mindset of Harris County Public Library maker locations, innovation labs, and maker programming.  During these unprecedente
