Come to the Barbara Bush Branch Library to obtain a Child ID card for your child under 18. The Child ID Program is a joint program between partners in the Houston Police Department (HPD), the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and New York Life. Having a Child ID gives caregivers the peace of mind of knowing that should anything happen to their child, they will have an ID with all vital information to distribute to the local authorities. Child IDs are created using the EZ Child ID System, the nation’s most comprehensive digital fingerprinting child identification system. Volunteers from the New York Life staff and the Child ID Program will make and distribute free ID cards for your child featuring: a photo, fingerprints, and other vital information. No information will be stored with volunteers after the ID has been printed and distributed.
Each Child ID takes approximately 5-10 minutes. Parent or legal guardian must be present.
